Colosseum Rome Entrance Fee: A Summary
The basic entrance fee, currently € 18.00, covers one timed admission to the Colosseum and one admission each to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, all within 24 hours.
Full-experience entrance fees, currently € 24.00, cover one admission to the Colosseum, with access to one or more restricted areas (Arena/Underground/Attic), and one admission each to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, the day before, of, or after your Colosseum Visit.
Tickets for the Colosseum can be purchasedic)online at the official site (colosseo.it) or at reputable resellers like GetYourGuide or Tiqets.
Note that the official site can occasionally be glitchy, and tickets may run out. Give yourself plenty of time to get the tickets you want, especially if visiting one of the restricted areas is on your wish-list.
While resellers may have an up charge, they provide additional value such as an audio guide. Booking is also much easier.
A guided tour is a great option if tickets for the areas of the Colosseum you wish to tour are not available for your desired date. Plus, an expert guide will relate history and explain context, bringing the monument alive and making sure you don’t miss something of import.
